My name is Alabastor Pris Holmes, although I have been known to simply go by Al Holmes at times, with Pris being a nickname affectionately given to me by my beloved brothers. Needless to say, I am a Blade Runner and Rutger Hauer fan, with Roy Batty, Pris and Sebastian being my personal favourite characters.
I am a self-proclaimed Weaver of Creativity, which in reality is a starving artist and writer. I am an aspiring singer and musician, and I have been writing lyrics for a few years now. I love to paint from traditional painting to digital painting, with my main focus being shadow and light play. I took an acrylic painting class when I was seventeen, which helped me greatly with understanding how to blend colours and shades together.
In 2000, my brothers and I developed our first original graphic novel which is our longest running series, of which was followed by two other Gothic graphic novels in 2006, and 2007. Our three series will be found upon our Celestial Time Miracles Studios art group’s homepage (currently under construction, due to revamping the homepage, and getting settled on a new webserver). Our graphic novels will be found online within the coming year in a similar format to that of webcomics.
I took up writing stories by myself in the Wintertime from the encouragement of my brothers and friends, starting off with several fanfiction tales. Over the Summer, I came up with two novels that I’ve been working on steadily and hope to be able to publish someday. I tend to prefer writing oneshots and vignettes for various ideas, because they are shorter in nature and I can focus entirely on the emotion of the scenes while writing longer stories make me conscious of the overall plotline; therefore, it takes me a long time to write chaptered stories...
I enjoy drabbles and Haiku, although they are much more difficult to write than one would think. I tend to stick roughly to around 100 words for drabbles (which is how you are supposed to write them, although I know others who go well over 100 words and get away with calling them drabbles), and tend to end up re-writing them over and over, because of my habit of going into details. Haiku can be tricky, because you have to stick to a general rule of 5-7-5 syllables, which can vary depending on a person’s accent.
I am an artist, sketching character designs for my art group’s graphic novels and projects, among portraits of real people I know once in a while. I wish to be able to start up commissions for both my artwork and writing, although I do not have the means of doing so at the moment. While I’m waiting for things to clear up, I am currently working on several art requests and trades that I have unfortunately been backlogged with due to family issues.
Once I’ve finished with those ones, I will be willing to take new requests, trades and commissions in the nearby future. For now, I am considering taking writing requests of vignettes and oneshots for those interested in my writing for them.
I believe I’ve covered the “career” aspects of my work here, so I suppose I’ll talk a little about myself. I am a tomboy, have been ever since I was young and am proud of the fact. As you can already see, I’m passionately involved with the creative arts for inspiration has stolen my heart long ago.
I listen to music every single day, and cannot imagine a day without music. Music means so much to me, it moves my soul and allows me to feel as though I belong somewhere beyond my own mind. I like a whole variety of music, although my favourite music is classical, medieval, Celtic, folk, rock, haunting and enchanting melodies... if I could, I would fill up a lonely room with music boxes to fill the atmosphere.
I love music boxes, old dolls, rag dolls, snow globes, water globes, crystals, and crystal balls among anything else that interests me ever since childhood. I enjoy the tarot and runes because I am a psychic, and not afraid to admit the fact. I have been able to observe auras ever since I was very young, although I used to believe I was seeing the faery belonging to each soul before I understood auras from my first best friend and dear soul sister, Amy...
Nature is apart of my free spirit, for I have a deep fondness of animals and I feel at home when I am within nature. I am of Native American heritage, and therefore I have a great respect for everything because I believe everything from nature to inanimate objects have a soul, for if one pours their heart and soul into their crafts, then should the craft itself not come alive?
I have a mixed heritage from Irish, Danish, Scottish, British, French and Native American; with Irish being my dominate blood. I believe I might have other blood as well, but I am not entirely sure of this. I do wish for Spanish and Russian blood, with perhaps Italian. I am interested in learning other languages, although I can understand a very basic (and limited, mind you) reading of other languages; I still have much to learn before I could speak another language with a reasonable understanding.
I love mystery, Gothic literature, and the supernatural, such as vampires. I grew up reading old folklore, mythology, and the Bible. I love the moon which might explain why I tend to be an night person. I’ve tried before to explain my own personality, yet I am known to be unpredictable, so... I suppose if you wish to know about my personality, you should talk to one of my beloved brothers or close friends.
~ Novels I am currently writing ~
Fallen Angels Have No Wings - a novel I've been writing over the Summertime about a samurai named Yorihisa Musashi, whom comes to find life meaningless as he fights opponent after opponent without a worthy match. Years after an incident which left his traveling companion injured and had her foster father warning Yorihisa to never let her travel alongside him again; Yorihisa meets up with the same girl now a grown woman, and she attempts to show him the meaning of being human.
The Stars Shine - a novel I've been writing over the late Summertime about a young nobleman whom is forced by his parents into an arranged marriage after his obsession with the supernatural goes too far. Disgusted by the arranged marriage, Raphael Bloom finds his desires for an Irish spectre become stronger as he wishes for a way to escape his planned marriage. Perhaps the darkest story I've worked on, with plenty of religious references from the Archangel Raphael, as well as historical references from my beloved Raphael Santi. |

I will be like the butterfly,
I will be like the phoenix,
I will be reborn,
I will be able to leave my dark past behind
You won't be able to see me throughout the dark night...
